The following safety equipment has been installed on Mirador:

-Winslow 4-Person Offshore Liferaft - new July 2001
- inspected and  recertified July 2006

           The "bail out bag" contains fresh water, lifejackets, handheld VHF, flares, kite for hoisting signal flag, GPS

- ParaTech 18' Sea Anchor - includes 600' of 3/4" Doublebraid line, 60' of 3/8" chain, stainless swivel, Paratech deployment bag

Emergency pumps

- 2,400 GPH automatic bilge pump

- 1,100 GPH automatic bilge pump

- 500 GPH automatic bilge pump

- Whale manual pump operated from cockpit

             The four pumps above are stacked in the bilge.  The smallest is lowest and biggest is on top

- 3,600 GPH 12V bilge pump
             This pump has a 30' power cable and 30' discharge hose so it can be moved to any compartment

 

Fire Extinguishers

- Frye Automatic Halon fire suppression system in engine room

- Kidde 10 pound in quarterberth

- Kidde 10 pound under Nav station

- Kidde 2.5 pound in galley

- Kidde 4 pound in owners cabin

 

Other Equipment

- Xintex propane sniffer and shut off (new June '07)

- MOB pole with small strobe and large 6V automatic lantern

- Lifesling and lifting tackle

- Horseshoe ring

- 12 gauge and 25 mm flare guns, parachute flares, smoke flares

- Standard LH25 loud hailer and automatic fog horn. 
    The speaker is mounted at the spreaders on the mast. 
    This unit also provides amplified listening capability

- Two large pad eyes in cockpit for tether hookups

- 35 watt floodlight on each spreader

- 35 watt floodlight on bottom of radar arch over the transom

- Aqua Signal strobe on masthead

- All 120 volt outlets have GFI (ground fault interrupter) protection
