IMPORTANT ADDITIONS TO MIRADOR NOT FOUND ON ANY OTHER CALIBER 40:

All sails custom made by North Sails of Seattle and Quantum Sails in San Diego- specifically for Mirador's character as a long distance offshore cruiser.  The sails were designed and constructed to insure safe sailing in almost any conditions.

Spinnaker, drifter, 120% roller furling genoa, and three staysails for safe and comfortable sailing in anything from zephyrs to storm force winds.   Her Quantum mainsail with two deep reef points and her trysail will deal with those really bad days!

110% overlapping staysail - custom designed by North Sails of Seattle after several heavy weather sailing sessions on Mirador.  In 25 knots apparent, hard on the wind, the big staysail allows Mirador to point three or four degrees higher than when using the 120% genoa rolled to 95%.  Additionally, and even more important, the heel is reduced from 20 degrees to 13 degrees and the weather helm is reduced from 9 degrees to 7 degrees.

Custom staysail sheeting tracks - way inboard.  These tracks allow the big staysail to achieve a very tight sheeting angle and greatly improves upwind performance in anything more than 22 knots apparent.

1100 NM motor range at 6.4 knots with 140 gallons diesel in two tanks.  Mirador, hull number 4072, is the last of the non-LRC hulls.  She originally had two 85 gallon water tanks and a 55 gallon fuel tank and only a single fuel filter.  We converted the center 85 gallon water tank into a 85 gallon diesel tank.
